200gms GONE

200gms gone this week, I am happy with that afterall it is a loss and that is 3 weeks in a row and after my 7 mth stagnation period 3 weeks losses is awesome.

I am pleased to say I didn't eat icecream last night-not to say I didn't want to. Hubby isn't helping he has been to the bank and applied for a loan to buy another vehicle-he can't be bothered fixing the van after its fire last week. He has always had a thing about the van and wanted to replace it for most of our time together...my thoughts are he is insecure about the fact it was mine..but he has run it into the ground over the last 8 yrs and now killed it completely. So now we are going to Chch and Timaru to look for another vehicle. He asked me last night if i needed to do the walk because he wouldn't have time to check for vehicle and me do the walk thing you can imagine the look he got and I am bloody sure I am not giving up my walk for a purchase I don't agree with. THAT IS FOR BLOODY SURE!!

Got a call yeterday afternoon needing me to work today so planned coffee with Lyne has been postponed till Wednesday arvo and I have made a hair appointment for wed too so 10.am doctors for more bloods and offical weigh in, 1.30 hair and then 2.30 coffee with Lyne.

Thanks for all the nice comments etc re blood results-still peeved and can't see past the fact had normal blood when fat and everyone said oh loose weight else u will have health problems at mid 40's and now here I am lighter mid 40's and stupid high bloody results. Will go next week and see doc and talk over the results and what she can suggest, that doesn't involve taking pills cause I am not popping pills. More flippen' money for nothing.

Right best make a move the clock is ticking on.

Did I tell you a 200gm loss this week making 3 weeks in a row YIPPPEEEE!!!

Monday, May 29, 2006

To say that I am peeved is an understatement.

I am bloody out write pissed off.

I went for results of blood test today, iron needs more blood taken as problem there, cholestrol is high and doctor wants to see me...go figure I have lost nearly 50 bloody kilos doing far more exercise and my blood pressure is up and now my choletrol..how does that work. So I am in a foul mood and came close to buying a 2lt block of caromello icecream and not convinced I won't go out lateer to get some.
Had arranged to visit with my girlfriend tomorrow afternoon, haven't seen her in like forever and we were away when it was her birthday coffee afternoon, then got a phone call about 10minutes after arranging times etc to aske me to work from 9am-4pm. So rung and postponed till Wednesday afternoon at 2.30 so I have hair cut at 1.30 and then off for coffee with Lyne at 2.30, will also have to go for weigh in Wed morning instead of Tuesday.

Home and away on talk later.

Walked the walk

Had decided to go for a walk today-woke at 7 to thick fog and thought bugger went back to bed and into a deep sleep and woke again at 10.30WOW
Fog was lifting and by time I did load of washing hung out 4 loads and done stuff it was 10 to 1 I finally managed to get out the door and on my way. I had planned on doing 8k but once I got walking I went a little further and clocked up 11kilometres. Felt good and although my legs are tired I am pleased with myself.

Watched program on telly tonight about liposuction and tummy tuck ops in Asia wow but still can't see that chopping it off is helpng fix the PROBLEM-just cause ya chopped off the fat doesn't mean that if u continue to eat incorrectly then the fat will not return. The lady the program was about was 130k and the NZ surgeon said he wouldn't have done the operation. Thankfully the op was a success. Then watched a program on the Food channel called Mood Food and it was very interesting-what foods effect your mood and behaviour. It was extremely interesting.

Now what have we got on this week bugger all really. I have a spa booked for Monday at 2pm so will enjoy that long soak. Tuesday 2.30 I am going for coffee with my old walking partner hardly get time for catchup these days with both working. Friday hubby and I will drive to Timaru on our way to Chch for the marathon. Weather for the weekedn is looking promising.

Had yummy Satay Chicken with rice for tea Yum Yum

Weigh in Tuesday for the blog challenge.

Right me and my tired legs are going to bed-Nite all.

1.2 loss for challenge

For the weekending Tuesday 23rd May loss of 1.2

Yesterday I went to Timaru for the day.
Cupboards and fridge is stocked again, bank is empty, went to Aqua class, and bought some jewellery yes a good day

Went to Micheal Hill bought a pretty silver belcher link bracelet, locket with heart has pretty pink cubic stone in heart. Also bought a ring set with lavender setting on layby save $200 that is my 50k reward. Re sized my wedding ring it would have to go down 4 sizes-now that in itself is incredible but the fact I couldn't wear my wedding ring for 8 yrs becasue it was to small means I have lost even more. Decided to leave it another few mths b4 sizing. Just have to be careful.

Almost talked myself out of Aqua did I really want to get changed-wore my denim skirt and boots so that was pantyhose and loads of hassles. But I went and enjoyed the class as usual. While I was at the pool Mum was at countdown doing her bits and so I collected her from there we went to lunch. HMMM didn't make the best moves there...I usually order garlic loaf have one slice and bin the rest but ate 3 slices and it was dripping with butter. Had chicken filo parcels which are delish, and icecream. But that was at 1pm, had breakfast at 6am, and didn't eat again except a choc bar while packing groceries at 6.30...when I got home at 9.30 was TO tired to bother so went to bed...wasn't actually hungrey.

Dietician was extremely pleased with me. Scales are down there by nearly 3 k, which is good. (6weeks) She loved my clothes (wore skirt and jacket I bought at Curves on holiday and boots so did look good) I said to Dietican and receptionist when they went WOW don't I look bloody marvellous in a whisper. I had taken a revolting dress with me that I use to wear, becauase last visit she had made comment on how nicely I dress. So nothing would do I had to try it on and see took me out to see Barbara receptionist, another client was there then and she showed me to her and then when I got changed into my skirt etc again she paraded me around some more see this is what she dressses like now isn't she beautiful oh it was about then I got a swollen head hehehe

Then it was over to another dept at hospital for bum examination-great fun-the highlight of my day NOT. censored( I have been passing blood when I GO, so thought it was time I did something about it. I am sure it is nothing afterall if it was more sinister than piles I would flippen be lossing weight quicker) so he did an examination and for precaution has ordered a internal with a name I can't remember and the paper is in the car but colonoscopy or something. Just to make sure and age etc it is good to have this done. So won't that be pleasant...a weight loss tool I won't be recommending. Dressed again for the fourth time for the day and it was only 4pm, droped off perscription, collected Mum had left her at the coffee shop upstairs at hospital took her back to car went back for script...when i do the up and down floor thing at hospital without Mum I do the stairs(take lift with her) well when I went back for script I went up to many flights just got so over myself hehehehe but did 5 flights ok I was puffing but still conscious which sometimes with 3 flights I am feeling heady and gonna faint.

When we had finished at hosptial we went grocery shopping-fun!! Had a huge list and still didn't get some stuff and came to $300 so broke again. But nice to have fridge full and healthy snack foods again will make the challenges ahead easier to deal too. As I said above bought a choc bar-was a thick and chunky choc mint chip-yum so enjoyed that while packing the car. Got home at 9.30 had a wee/power nap break at Tekapo cause I was getting weary-unpacked the car put away frozens and fridge stuff and bed 10.30 (Hubby was already in bed so no help from him) Then he wanted to talk I grunted a couple of answers and went to sleep.

Feeling weary today. Grey and drissling so not gonna bother with washing start work at 12 noon so will stay in my nightie till then and blob-or blog-a bit.

and the reward is.

bought this on holiday 18C

and have bought the knickers today as my reward 18/20 not confident they will fit but the bigger size is not available till August. In peach pretty huh!!!!

IT'S OFFICAL

DO U SEE IT my little pink elephant has moved along the ladder at flippen last.
October 05 i was 126.5 and goal was 125 I have hovered around that and 128 since not being able to get below the 126.5(i think I might have been 126 for about 10mins) this morning I went for offical weigh in and AT LAST THE SCALES MOVED
124kilos
DID YOU HEAR ME 124kilos
As you can imagine I am over the moon at this. I have worked bloody hard for it to happen and have thought about giving up many a time but have plodded along and at last it has happened so girls stick with it is will happen. The secret is DON'T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF.

Now this reading is different from the 5k challenge I have with fello blogger, that challenge is read from my home scales which differs from the doctors scales reading this morning for challenge is 127.2 which is a 1.2 loss so am please to report I am getting there.

I have 3 scales I weigh on home scales just to see if I am keeping in control, dietican scales just because, and the doctors scale which I consider as my offical reading as this was my starting weight all those years back in May 2000 so that is my I consider this an offical reading of
48kilos LOST.

Been a tough evening.
At 5.30 the fire siren went off didn't take much notice of it really, until hubby came home. It was our van that was on fire...apparently electrical. He was driving home and next thng smoke was going out everywhere...no apart from anything else he always carries lawnmower petrol in the back so it was get out of there quick. fire brigade were called and sprayed under it with foam..that is not gonna be good for it. To get to the motor ya have to lift the seat etc and it was dark so haven't looked yet at the damage.

Then about 20 mins ago I got a MSN message from my girlfriends husband. Chris has been ill for about 10 yrs. she has respitory problems, which lead to heart problems-on one of her MANY hospital visits she got a bug in her blood and it is eating into her flesh of her legs..several times over last 4 yrs they have wanted to take her leg she wouldn't have it. She hasn;t been eating or drinking since Feb and has lost half her body weight. Frail and weak sleeping all the time. He has been told it is only a matter of time. She has signed a non resusitate order. Poor old Jim doesn't know what to do he is estranged from there daughter and there son is disabled, Jim will be lost. I really didn't know what to say other than Shit.

Trying real hard to kep away from the kitchen, can't comfort myself with food.

I txt my son about the van he jsut rung to see if everything was ok. So that was nice.

Did 30 mins sweating on the treadmill this morning.

Holiday is over - What a GREAT time.

Hamilton get2gether Chubby Mum, Kris and Me

Plamertson Nth get2gether
Ann sitting in red, Me, Janene and Miss Georgia
Helena sitting in black, Janine, Jenni(Jo's Mum) and Rhian
Jo Standing and Karen

I can never get photos in the spot I want them so u can get alittle tidbit of the fun times by the shots them find the dialouge to match.

Ok hope u have plenty of time and a coffee cause this is a long one.

Thursday April 27th
I had to work in the end on Thursday, but was able to finish at 4.20 so didn't argue and walked over to Mum's the car was packed and I just went to the loo and we were pulling out the drive at 4.30pm. Had a great drive up to Chistchurch couple of loo stops but still made it in 4 hours great time for us I can tell you...one trip from home to Chch was 12hrs but normal for us is 5-6 hrs. We decided to have tea before we leave home, I had chicken and satay rice for lunch at 1.30 so was full from that.
When we got to Chch we dropped Mum to my Aunties and a quick hello. Then off to hotel. We were greeted with big hellos etc from the hotel staff we have stayed at this hotel many times b4 over the last 12-15 months. We slept like a log. We had asked for an early wake up call, but were awake at 5.
Friday April 28th
Breakfast-drove over to pick up Mum. Dropped car at storage. Got to airport just time to process bags, check in, go to loo and what seemed like no time they were calling our flight for boarding. Flight to Hamilton was cloudy most of way so veiw wasn't anything much-coming into Ham however it had lifted or we were below it what ever and a brdseye veiw of city. We had booked a shuttle and the driver was great took us on a short tour of Hamilton. We went to MotorInn (Southern Cross) nice room. Hubby and I went for a half hour stroll to check out the area, then back to room quick shower and changed I wanted to wear my jeans and boots but didn't trust my feet in them on and off the plane. J and I walked into town checking out a few shops on the way. We parted and he wondered off to look around while I went to Breakers http://www.breakerscafebar.co.nz/ to meet with Kris and ChubbyMum. Big hugs all round, we all recognised each other and big hugs. One of the highlights of my holiday. We chatted and laughed. Had a luvly meal, I won't mention the Icecream sundae issue Kris. After we ate we collected ourselves together and went out to see Hamilton. CM took us to Kris' mum and we picked up her little fella then we went to school and picked up Corbin what a lovely school and it was neat to be in a school enviroment again made me think maybe i could get involved in some more volenteer work at the school of creche here again...will see. Then we went and picked up Kris who we had dropped at home to change her clothes and her gals were home from school and miss chatterbox told us about her day that girl will be a performer of some sorts I expect to see her on the tv or movie screens anytime soon. We dropped the girls off at Kris' mum and we ventured onto Dressmart (not overly impressed but was good to see the difference shops) Then we strolled around to warehouse I bought a book, no bra's in my size...how frustrating is it to loose weight and find the shops now stock clothes to big for me..I no longer need 24 DD looking for 20C and having a dreadful time might have to change my style darn I like this brand. Will have to flop around in the 20D's until I can find others. After leaving warehouse we went to collect Quinn from his daycare another impressive setup. We then went to hotel for me to change and tell Mum and hubby what we were doing...CM Kris and I were going for a spa at there gym. So they got to breifly meet Mum and my hubby. We dropped Kris off it was getting late and her hubby was just home, hope he wasn't to upset Kris at being locked out. CM and I went to her home, what a beautiful home it is, and I met her hubby and Mum...she was proud to show me CM wedding photos. We went to the gym and met CM trainer and seen the set up we were all proud of CM for her doing her 10k walk in the morning. I seen the water bike and now understand what she talks of. Then the spa was having a lovely time till the lid of the spa fell on CM head with a huge crash poor old thing was well shaken and suffered from pain. We soaked for about an hour I guess and CM dropped me back at motorinn and we said our farewells rather emotional for me. When I got back to M/Inn. Mum and hubby were waiting to go to dinner so we went to the restaruant nice wee set up we were only ones there so service couldn't be faulted. The breakfast times weren't going to suit our time for leaving so hubby and I walked the next block to Pak n Sav and got some tinned fruit and cornflakes for breakfast and some bread and ham to make sammies for on the train. Back to hotel made the sammies had a shower and off to bed.
Saturday 29th April
Woke to a cool misty morning. Went to make coffee and the others had drunk all the milk yesterday gggrrrr could have said at supermarket office wasn't open, went to make cereal and fruit no can opener bugger gonna be a good day, thank fully I had also bought some fruit bread so we had fruit toast and we were packed and ready to go early enough that as soon as office and restaurant opened we could get a pot of coffee and read the morning paper. Shuttle arrived to take us to the train station...wasn't open yet but we had a wonder around and soon the lady was opening up and it seemed like no time at all that 9.50 was here and so was the train. We boarded, Mum and I were sitting on one side front seat so loads of leg room and hubby on other by himself so thru the day I would change sides and keep him company. The train windows were LARGE so great veiw EXCELLENT TRIP. We stopped for nearly an hour at National park but by time I got 3 coffees and a piece of carrot cake to share and we all went to the loo that time flew I would have liked a look around but not when u have 2 infants to attend to...well that is how it felt some times. I'd love to go away by myself and just be me no one to rush around after, oh well that isn't gonna happen anytime soon. I got some shots of hubby by the train he looks like the cat that got the cream. Unfortunately the weather was still murky so couldn't see the mountains but did get some postcards...I am so darn annoyed with myself for not getting any in Hamilton. We rolled into Palmerston Nth about 5.10 and Ngaire's daughter was there to greet us. I think she was gonna have kittens when she seen all the bags. Big hugs with Ngarie on arrival at her place. Lots to catch up on-she had planned on F n Chips for tea so hubby and I walked around at 7 and got those...our ordered was botched up when we unwrapped it so I rung and they delivered the rest by car. I got water and bread while out looked at icecream but decided didn't need that with fish and chips being a big enough waist of calories. Sat up till all hours nattering about nothing much. Ngaire just wanted to talk. Once I got to bed I slept well.
Sunday 30th April
Woke about 8 still hadn't been able to get hold of Janine(turns out I had old phone details but after leaving some panic notes on some bloggs we made contact), she phoned about 8.30 I was just lookng for my glasses to find her Dad's phone number in p/book hubby's suggestion he does come in handy for some things. We arranged that J would pick us up at 10 ish so we muddled around till then...I was going to go for a walk but that didn't happen. Janine arrived, it was raining by then so I wasn't at gate as I said i'd be, big hugs and this girl and me are gonna be bussom buddles for a long while I can tell-we clicked. I introduced her to N and Mum and hubby and I went with her to dropp hubby at J Dad's to spend the day talking train things. He had a GREAT time and talks of nothing else about our holiday actually that and his little train buys I would have to say was the highlight of his holiday. After we stettled them down in the basement we were off for our day of giggles and get2gether. We got to The Churchyard Cafe-very impressed and planned on returning but didn't. Janine and I arrived Karen, Jo and Jenny were there Helena came up behind me from somewhere and we had big hugs (like we had been friends for ever not just meeting for first time) I hadn't realised we were doing the brunch thing so of course felt a dill when my soup and chicken salad arrived and everyone else was having eggs benidict or pancakes(which i might add the pancakes loooked devine) but I tucked into my chicken and vege soup it was delish as was my chicken apricot and brie filo cigars on garden fresh salad. I was fair bursting and eventhough there was so MANY yummy sweet things I wasn't going to have anymore...well that was until Karen offered me some of her fruit salad and it was so yummy I went and got a bowl-YUMMO. We got the waitress to take a photo of the group not sure what she did but the camera jammed and I had nothing until camera went flat and then when i changed batteries no group picture so thankfully Jo had got a shot on her camera. We then went onto the Plaza for some retail therapy a must when a group of gals get2gether something the guys just don't understand. I went into Millers and bought a top well hell the length of time I was there you'd have thought I was buying the shop but eventually I got served and we then went onto K Mart I bought a pair of shoes-should have them on today while I am not doing much to stretch them. Just a pair of those sneakery looking things casual easy walking shoes but don't look chuncky got a cream and tan pr to go with most I wear. We sort of parted ways then Ann, and Janine went off home and the rest of us gals went onto Ezibuy, I got my leather jacket I had planned on getting and a lovely apricot bra size 20C what an acheivement from the 24DD I was wear 12mths ago. We had a grand old wonder around ezibuy and others bought clothes too...I loved Helena's tousers but decided I best not buy same she really would think I was stalking her...I did however ask here wehere she got her jacket and headed to Platform for one same but was told oh that was so last season...funny how all the other stores have similar this season, oh well did see some 3/4 jeans and black pants I was rather keen on and may still get(when the bank balance looks helathier). I think it was about 4.30 when we left Ezibuy the others were heading back to Wellington and J and I went back to her dad's to pick up hubby I did say he probably wouldn't notice if we didn't go get him. They were out walking the dog when we arrived but were on there way back when I rung on cell-we had a much needed coffee and left about 5.30. A lovley drive to Wellington and J was a great tour guide pointout points of interest along the way. Traffic was steady coming into town but as I wasn't driving and J had done this trip so many times I wasn't at all worried and just enjoyed the ride. After a hiccup with the entry of Kingsgate Oriental Bay (what is it with Kingsgate hotels they say one thing and reseption is on another address altogether, J dropped us off and more hugs and I almost got emotion as I had a BLAST of a day, we arranged we would meet at lunchtime Tuesday, and went our seperate ways. We lugged our baggs up the lift to our room oh what a veiw we had of bay etc by time pf arrival it was dark and the lights shimmering on the water was amazing. We unpacked our bags etc and went downtown to find somewhere for tea, I didn't actually feel at all hungry. We walked for ages most cafes etc were asian, indian mexican or the likes hubby is very much a steak man. We enjoyed the walk and dispite the time of night and fact we were in a city I didn't feel at all frightened but then i had my big strong hero of a husband with me to protect me from attackers HUH. We found some of the places on our list of shops etc we wanted to go to eventually found a sports bar http://www.wellingtonsportscafe.co.nz/thebar.htm ok so we don't watch sports but it had steak meal fo himself. I had a steak sandwich jury is still out as if I liked it or not. Enjoyed the atmosphere and watching the goings on of the city life. We then wondered some more, found a little asian place with cakes that looked amazing so got a piece each of chocolate to take away...I was very impresed with the hygenie and presentation- headed towards the New World and got water and bits and back to hotel about 11. Ate our cake in near darkness enjoying the veiw and talking about our day. Snuggled down in the comfy bed about 12.30 drifted off to sleep looking at veiw.(woke at 3.30am the sky and lights and water was amazing I took some photos but of course not at all clear, but couldn't get back to sleet till well after 5, if I shut my eyes they would open again enjoying the scenery.)
Monday 1st May
Woke about 8.30, had shower went to breakfast, can't have been a busy night because they didn't have buffet for cooked breakfast just bought u what u wanted so we both ordered cooked and then swapped mushrooms sausages, and hash brown to hubby plate and his tomatoes to mine. Hubby asked for eggs, he doesn't normally eat eggs but asked for hard fried enjoyed them so much he got another one.
We wondered back into town oh it was way busier place at 10am on a Monday morning I can tell you. I went to Millers and hubby went onto couple of train/model shops arrangement was I would met him back at millers, where he thought I would go I am not sure as I hadn't finished spending when he did get back-well for goodness sake what is a girl to do when most everything in the shop was only $5 and nothing I bought was over $15...spent $211 should have been $560 so had 3 large bags so we walked back to hotel to drop them off. Not sure what we did for the next few hours everything was a whirl of in and out of shops and malls etc. We did end up at The Warehouse at Kilbirne, I didn't think there was much there for the hype I had heard and the effort it took us to get there, but we did have a nice bus ride and got to see more sea...I did suggest we go for a walk along the beach but nothing came of that. We got back to hotel about 6 and decided we couldn't be bothered walking back into town, when we were on the bus to Kilbernie it went around the back and there were a couple of restaurants up past the hotel so we changed and ventured in that direction. The first was OVER priced and we left the second was called Fishermans table www.fishermanstable.com lovely meal, hubby had a steak no surprise there I had a lovely pan fied fish and the salad bar had every kind of salad to choose from. I so enjoyed the meal and the restartaunt was over looking the bay so you get a different veiw from the hotel. I was gonna be good and not have dessert but wasn't strong enouhg when it came to the crunch oh well the walking I had done thru the day might have jsut about been enough to work off the nuts on the HUGE ice cream sundae. We walked back to restaurant called into the Freyburg pool and checked times for Aqua classes next day I had planned on going to gym but was buggered so when we got back to our hotel I went down to the hotel pool and did a few leghts and just sort of wollowed...someone had opened all the ranchsliders so the water and room was darn cold actually...was jsut about to get out and a couple of fellas came in for a look around so stayed right were I was for a few minutes longer. Had a shower there thought it was gonna be easier than the room...trouble with all Kingsgate hotels we have stayed in so far is they have shower over bath, this has always been a problem for me to get out again, hubby helped me with others but I thought I'd shower at pool but not a good idea as there was no where to put clothes etc in the shower box so u were rather exposed should someone come in the pool area, but theym didn't and the water was lovely. Back to room sat and talked about our day and snuggled into bed about 12 again. We had planned on going to the pictures but we wante to see Keeping Mum with rowan atkinson and it was on at the suburb cinemas not knowing where they were we decided better of venturing out and getting lost. Hubby wasn't into the others showing at Hoyts or Reading there were acouple that looked to have promise.
Tuesday 2nd May
Woke stiff and sore after our walking yesterday. Breakfast another full cooked breakfast oh well but it keeps me going all day so don't have to bother with lunch. Plan for day was to meet with Sue at 10.30 and Janine at 11.30 on J suggestion we met at Stanley Road coffe shop, www.stanleyroad.com not sure why it is called stanley rd cause it is on the corner of victoria and willeston. This suited Sue as it was close to her work also. I walked with hubby as far as Manna Mall he went off back to model shop he had been to yesterday I went onto the coffee shop got there about 10.15. There was a fire drill or something across the road wat a flippen racket. Then it must have been coffee time cause the coffee bar just exploded with ppl concrete floors loud radio and people every where the noise was deafening...not my idea of relaxing coffee. Anyway by time Sue arrived it had either quietened down or I had got use to it. I regognised Sue the minute she walked around the corner. It was so neat to meet her and we chatted over coffee like mates of old, about everything from kids to weight loss to fitting in smaller clothes and wat we wear now...must check out a pair of boots like Sue had stretch all at back so fit my thighs. The hour just flew past. Just as S had said she best get back Janine walked in so intro's all round and Sue went back to work and J and I had more coffee. After which we walked back to J office building untill it was time for her to go back to office and I went to Lampton Quay, couldn't go to Wellington and not go to the most talked about shopping street in everywhere. Had a noisy round bught some sunglasses at Glasson's. So can say I bought something from Glasson's now-this is a shop I have wanted to buy at since I was sixteen. Looking around I couldn't actually see any item of clothes in my age bracket think I might have left my run a bit late for Glassons bu there are SO MANY more lovely clothes shopps now than back when I was 16 I will have so much to chose from the world will ne my oyster. Was meeting friends at hotel at 2 so headed back walked along the water front seen several different walkers and runners I regonised from yesterday good on them some were big ppl doing it for themselves one woman in particular I was very impressed with her. Got back to hotel room but hubby wasn't there so headed back to reseption to get another key but could hear hubby and friends in restaurant coffee bar. Val and Doug use to live in Twizel and we got on well they left town a few years back so it was nice to catch up again. They stayed till about 4.30, a bit late then to head to Tawa Dress Mart by train so we blew that idea. Went back to room and blobbed for a while, we had booked dinner at Fisherman's Table again for 7.30 so wasn't really time to do much between. Had a shower got dressed and walked to restaurant. Told u the meal was nice to book again. I enjoyed the fish again. Kicked myself at dessert time, had already come to the realisation I was going to have dessert and ordered the Chocolate Scallop Shell with choc and vanilla ice cream and boysenberry sauce now don't get me wrong this was DELISH but we had already decided to go to Fishermans Table at Palmerston Nth next night and could have had that then...the special was carrot cake and it looked yummo...which I wouldn't be able to have tom night silly me but oh well that is what happens when u get fixated on food. You live to regrett the choices you make one way or another. Another lovely meal not as busy so noise level was much more pleasing. Went back to hotel via New World got more bottles of water and bed by 11.
Wednesday 3rd May
Alas our last day-I have enjoyed Welllington strange considering it has gotta be busier than Chch and I hate that place but think it had a lot to do with fact I didn't have to get anywhere at anytime and I DIDN'T HAVE TO DRIVE. We had organised a late check out We went down to breakfast I decided on just a continental hubby had cooked. I went to the pool for Aqua classes-wasn't sure of the set up so just sat on side bench watching for a while hell wasn't like I was going to see anyone that knew me sitting there with more of my fat body exposed than was good for others. I wear tights under my togs so in reality it isn't actually much worse than walking down the street but it is the thought. Couple of others arrived that looked like fello Aqua gals so i ventured into the pool swam as only I do along and wham bloody near drowned it is EXSCREAMLY deep so I floundered to edge and back to shallow end. Got out and thought do I go get dressed and give into the fears or do I grab a floatation belt...I went for the later, proud of my me moment. By time I got back to pool edge the instructor arrived very pleasant Asian chap he introduced himself and I told him I couldn't swim he asked if I had done aqua b4 and did I have any medical histroy etc I was impressed and felt much more confident. He kept checking I was ok thru the class at times this was abit OTT but nice all the same. Class finshed I would have like to gone for a spa but time was pressing on. Showered and dressed walked back to room, weather had turned cold by now and suspect this could of help contribute to the now head cold and chest infection leading to broncittis. When I got back to room hubby had packed his bag showered and was nearly ready. I got last minute bits and boobs packed (the extra bag I bought at Warehouse helped to accomodate the extra clothes bought in my travels heheheh) We checked out and asked if they could ring our cab. We got dropped at Downtown back packers (sure hope the rooms were cleaner than the lobby and coffee shop) they had lockers for our bags and plan was to check out the train station and go back to Lampton Quay then to lunch at Backbenchers Cafe http://www.backbencher.co.nz/ but as the weather had turned really cold and thick drizzle which was very wetting we voted to have a look at train station-nothing much, ther person hubby was wanting to meet had gone for the day and then we went to lunch. Very nice couple of politicans names of who we didn't know, not something either of us are up with other than the front benchers heheheeh. There was a Winton Peters debate on that night which would have been worth seeing had we still been around. We went back to the backpackers and just waited for the bus. http://www.bayxpress.co.nz/ 3pm bus was on time, we boarded bus wasn't full so hubby sat infront and I sat one back made the trip more comfy. Dispite the weather it was a great trip veiw around the coast was nice but couldn't see the south island Janine. Enjoyed the trip back to Palmerston North. Arrived in just past 5pm Ngaire and Mum were waiting looking all posh in there going out clothes. We suggested going to Fishermans Table as I had a map and new what it was like-we had driven past in the bus and noticed it was up stairs so we parked along from were we thought it was but actually it was the next block so I walked to check out if there was a lift as neither Mum nor Ngaire could walk up stairs and didn't need a booking. Yes a lift and no a booking wasn't neccasrry so after using the loo I went back to car and they drove around the corner and I walked back we had a nice table near window looking over a park...we had on just sat there was a lot of police cars etc turns out a lady had been knocked over jay walking across very same spot I had done very same thing a few minutes before hand, very thankful it wasn't me laying on the road. (Paper said she wasn't badly hurt and driver was shaken) We enjoyed yet another meal, I had Chicken breast with apricot and almond sauce YUM, on my recomendation Mum and Ngaire both had the fish both enjoyed theres, of course hubby had steak. We all enjoyed our meals. By time it was to leave the evening traffic had thinned out which was how I had thought and I drove back to Ngaires. M and N had been shopping they and got water so didn't need to go to shops so just went for a short walk(20mins). Spent evening just sorta blobbing and talking N was looking pretty tired.
Thursday 4th May
Woke with N daughter knocking at door, they called in on way to school so was good to see them. I had a couple of tops I had to give M daugther wasn't sure if she'd like them but she did and stripped off what she had on and put one on...didn't tell her tht hubby had bought them home from work. I got dressed and went to pool for aqua, Mum was going to come but at last minute decided not to come, so I was late. Several gals there from when I came in September and remembered me so that was nice...I have said it before and will again these girls are the friendliest group of the classes I go to. Showered and dressed in day clothes. Went back to N and eventually we all decided to go shopping. Hubby wanted to go to hobby shops I had foun when there last time http://www.mrmodels.co.nz/ and Barnes Book and models in Terrace End (he spent plenty there wnet back 4 times) I went to Curves across the road(Ann had suggested I go look see). Some lovely clothes the lady showed me a heap of stuff some she liked I didn't some I liked she didn't and some we both decided was positively dreadful. I bought a nice denim skirt $149 and jacket $186 I HAVE NEVER SPENT SO MUCH ON CLOTHES. Could have spent heaps more. Will return another day I am sure of that. We pottered about and poked till it was nearly 2 took M and N back home and then came back to town and meet Ann at coffee shop across from K Mart. Another hour that flew by, seemed like no time that hubby was back from browsing the Mall/Plaza. I enjoyed getting to talk with Ann on a one on one basis. After parting company with Ann we had a look around K Mart I bought a lovely lavender toilet bag..I had looked at when there on Sunday road trip and like it but talked myself out of it...talked myself back into it then hehehe. And it was on sale so even better. When we got back to Ngaire's she had cooked a lovely dinner of corned silverside and mashed spud(yum mashed with milk and butter) carrots, courgettes and cabbage. Spent evening again talking and watching twaddle on telly. I walked to shop after tea and got some more water and trim milk for breakfast coffee.
Friday 5th May
Went to aqua again had told Mum before going to bed to be ready if she wanted to go with me...she wanted to go to Osti shop and Warehouse and watch the Aqua classes. So we got there and class had already started so I changed, showed her the loo if needed and got in pool. Enjoyed class again. After showering and dressing we went to Warehouse by then she had gone off Osti shop we wondered around got a few bits I got a black bra in a 18C will try it to see if fits or should with extenders and some knickers...perhaps too many pairs of knickers on unpacking 23 pairs. When we got back to N Mum was panicking about the plane and packing etc....we still had 2.5 hrs till we had to be there but she was doing her usual panic. Hubby had tried phoning to say bring some bread rolls but I didn't take phone so never got the message...actually the plan that had been arranged while we were away was to go to N daughters for lunch and to see her garden, but because Mum did her panic thing N never said and we didn't go so had cold corned beef sandwiches. Mum got her bag packed had shower etc b4 lunch. N had to pop to lawyers so we left at 1pm back to Terrace end she was only few minutes and we went to airport. Unloaded a million cases because we didn't want the luggage loading check in gal to see the on plane luggage as well so N sat with the on plane stuff while we checked in. Bags didn't go over limit but just 59kilos. After checking in I went and paid the departure tax we checked out some post cards...as I was paying for them I said to girl should i have got anything to show for departure and she swore black and blue she had given me the coupons I swore equally she hadn't so she said to go and speak to the security man. So I did he marked our tickets. I would have loved to call her and ask if she had 3 extra after checking totals at end of day. Ngaire was getting upset so decided to leave so we all said our goodbyes and big hugs all round. We waited for plane which was running late bugger it cause meant that Helena's plane was taking off as we landed so missed seeing her again I was really bummed about that. Good flight otherwise so meant Mum was talking next time we fly which is good. We collected our luggage rung the car storage and we were back in the car in no time at all...which meant our holiday was offically over.
We checked in at hotel showed Mum the hotel room and hubby went on his way I took Mum to my Aunties. Back to hotel met up with hubby who had been to Iron horse models and they had a sale on so more train stuff. We went to Oxford on Avon for tea yuk slops on a plate will not be going again. Then we decided to go to Regent on Worchestor to pictures-Keeping Mum well worth the wait absolutely a must to see for a GOOD LAUGH one of the trailers was for Kinky boots http://www.kinkyboots-movie.com/ and it looks well worth seeing too. Walked back to hotel enjoying the movie as we went. Bought a bottle of wine at a corner bottle store and enjoyed a glass of wine in our hotel room.
Saturday 6th May
Woke breakfast had continental, decided there wasn't room in the day for aqua classes. Went to bike shop to collect bike wheel( I had got girlfriend to drop off as I kept getting soft tyre and think had a slow leak...asked for a new tube and a spare tube, not that i know what to do with the spare if I needed to replace it.) Hubby and I parted company then he went off back to model shops and bike shops he usally haunted in Chch and I went and picked up Mum. Plan was to head to Oxford to visit girlfriend hadn't seen in ages...by time we arrived they were just sitting down to lunch so Mum joined them in Savoloys I didn't. We had a great catch up seen the wedding photos and video of there new house...I didn't like it but i don't have to live there. We stayed till about 3 drove back to Hornby Dress Mart wanted to see if I could get a black jacket at K and K and Classic Clothing, found similar to one Helena had but did have a couple I liked but not in my size surprise surprise. Did get a wind breaker at Classic Clothing had been $90 and I thought it was half prce at $45 but in fact it was only $29.95 so couldn't leave it there...red with beige/offwhite trim, button front which I prefer for walking. Then we went to another girlfirends They use to live in Twizel move 2 yrs ago she had developed rumatiod arthrtis very painful so they moved back to Chch for treatment etc. We try to visit every couple of trips to Chch. Her hubby is a tour coach driver so was neat he was home too. Hubby had caught bus to hornby and so they had a good catch up too. We took Mum to church at her old 'LOCAL' and we went over to Mall I went to Pak n Save got water, lotto and went to loo...I can tell you the Hornby Mall toilets have sure had a face lift about time. I went back to car and suggested we go to Warehouse to get hubby the shoes he said he needed also work socks etc. Collected Mum from church at 7.15 dropped her at Aunties and went to Twiggers for Dinner and Caberet. http://www.addingtoneventscentre.co.nz/Twiggers this is where we were married and a great night out NORMALLY. Unfortunately we were sitting near the edge of stage not a good move...first was when lady singer came to table wanted hubby to dance she has gotta be kidding...he was very angry as if that wasn't enough the next set the man singer came to table asking stupid questions...I thought hubby would have wanted to go but he did suggest we move to another table so we did I got a jug of orange juice and we were sitting enjoying the rest of the show...they pointed out we had gone some one yelll out no only moved a remark was made lots of laughing, never heard what was said probably just as well. I was sitting and all of a sudden thought I am going to be sick so rushed to bathroom and lost my dinner, thankf god we had moved cause I wouldn't have made it in time from the other table...not a bad thing as I had eaten far to much and guessing it was why I was sick. Picture the scene if u would denim skirt with waist band and zipper to much dinner leaning against table (normally only ever wear elastic wasit) came back to table we went back to hotel. Grumbled and up and down most of night...hubby had eaten osyters and pudding and so he had a grumbly tum too. So no sleep and drive home after groceries...didn't have enough money on card to pay the bill at hotel so drove over to pick up Mum to borrow dollars. Came back to hotel paid the bill and off to Pak n Save just as we were leaving the car at PnS Mum realised no walking stick-I phoned aunty and she thankfully was going to PnS so bought it over saved me going back to get it. We left Chch at 1 drove to Ashburton stopped to visit with a friend for an hour or so and back on road pulled in home at 7 hardly even tired go figure.

Now u can see why it took so long to post an update. Hope u are still awake.
