Another week gone

Well here it is Sunday again.
Worked all week.
Hubby went out of town Tuesday afternoon and return Friday, so it was chicken every nite for this kid.
He bought me a George Foreman Steamer so I am set now with gadgets for a while...test run for slow cooker today and steamer. I wanted to try cooker b4 relying on it doing its thng while I'm not here, it passed with flying colours hehehe. Made a casserole actually prepared it yesterday as I went out last nite and wasn't confident I'd be in any state to be cooking today. Becauce the bowl was to big for the fridge I put it in a smaller bowl and transfered it this morning all I can say is thank goodness my stomach was ok cause meat and brown sauce plonking in a casserole dish make me think not lady like thoughts. Turned it on at 11 when I got up and it bubbled away all day happily has a clear lid so checked it couple of times and was very strong andonly lifted lid once to stir. Steamed veges pretty boring cause supplies are low, corn on cob, carrot rings and cauli but 10 mins and all cooked and only one dish to wipe clean and the crock pot liner...enough casserol in freezer for another night.
As I said earlier went out last nite to a 40th birthday-this gal has had some helath issuses lately so it was nice to celebrate a nice time for her for a change...she was in hospital just Friday week ago. Was a good nite-planned on drinking vodka and soda but it wasn't giving me the kick I wanted so swittched to wine had a bottle over course of 8 hrs with water and soda water in between to keep me from getting to fizzed. Home at 2am felt ok.
Set myself a new challenge Feb I am planning to do a half marathon in Westport and lots of my family live there that haven't seen me in a good while so will be impressing them all and my girlfriend is coming over from America haven't seen her since 2001 so am 35k less now...but have set a challenge for 10k by Feb bringing me to 110k and a loss of over 60k all up. calcualtions say a loss of 300gms a week would get me there so here I go.
Got caught in the rain today while out walking(well more of a stroll really couldn't get moving today) freezing cold wind and teeming rain but clocked up the distance I wanted to cover (5k)

BLOODY MARVELOUS

LARGE
did you hear me
LARGE.

thats the size polar jacket I bought today....I didn't think to take a jacket to town today and wanted to go for a walk on beach so we went to Warehouse and I got jacket(well actually 2 cause had buy 1 get one free offer) Looked for xl and didn't have one so I tried the large right there in shop I wanted to scream the roof off a bloody LARGE, started this journey in a 5xl polar jacket. Got to beach and it was so warm I didn't really need the jacket but I wore it anyway after all it was a LARGE. 40 min walk on beach in a LARGE jacket can do wonders for ya

Actually all up it was a neat day...we had lovely lunch and I made good choices, we wnet to Briscoes and I bought a slow cooker and a new dinner plate...2 a small square plate to sit on a bigger square plate giving me the elusion I am eating off of a bigger plate will keep you posted if it works. Also got a rubber loaf tin u know the sort that doesn't rust and 2 rubbish bins for bedroom all for 80 bucks. Warehouse 2 jackets in size LARGE, and a pair of walking shoes unfortunately the only ones that fitted weren't in ther buy one get one free offer but were reduced from 45 to 30 bucks and feel like they will be comfy and lightish...some of the ones I tried were SO HEAVY and lots of them were just far to narrow...think I was 45 mins trying on shoes. Then groceries...wow veges are expencive at moment so got a fefresh and around to frozen...freezers were nearly empty obviously everyone else had same idea. So I have cabbage, cauli, carrots, leeks, meslin salad, brussel sprouts, corn on cob-frozen, spinach-frozen, tomatoes, kumara so at least I'm stocked with the stuff. Got bugger all in way of meat-looked at the cheese and thought nope I am not gonna get any can't be tempted if haven't got it. Got some low fat feta shit that was over 6 bucks will have to make sure I use all of it last lot when off b4 I used it all.
Great drive home stopped for salad for tea at Fairlie, hubby had pizza oh yeah and he got icecream on cone at Pleasant Point on way to Timaru and I didn't get one. Seen some lambs goin into Pleasant Point so cute.

So I have weeks meal plan for night meals and the ingredients to make em...I won't try slow cooker till weekend as I am working all week and think I would like to take that slowly after all it is a slow cooker heheeh

Well it is very much my bed time...do you think I can wear my LARGE jacket to bed heheeh

Nite all

Has it really been nearly a week

since I last posted knew it was a couple of days...where does the time go.

Actually not a lot happening-sitting here listening to Classical music station drinking green tea and thought I'd drop in and say howdy.

Had hoped to go to town tomorrow grocery shopping but the other girls didn't want to go and now the weather has turned to custard and been snowing on and off all day so not going. Since then have been asked to work half a day so money in is better than money out. Went down the dairy and bought a few bits won't bore u with a list but let me tell u 2 small grocery bags of mainly fruti and vege and frozen vege 72 dollars and that will only really last a couple of days.

Had a suprise visit from a dear friend on Monday, they were in town for the night it was great to have a catch up but not nearly long enough but longer than the half hour snatched here or there when we go up to Christchurch so can be glad of that. Biggest thrill was fact she hates the cold SO MUCH last time they were here was several years ago and she froze it was January for heavans sake and she comes thru in July of the coldest winters in years. (Her son and partner were over from Oz and the girlfriend had never seen snow so hence the trip to Twizel) They were to stay 2 nights but Sheryl couldnt hack the fog and cold so they went early. I had seen Sheryl in April but haven't seen her hubby in maybe 18 mths HE WAS GOBSMACKED at my weight loss. Pete is a friend don't get m wrong I introduced him and Sheryl (20 yrs ago as we worked out Monday) but he is a very nasty piece of goods when it comes to weight and stuff. He has said some very hurtfull things over the years I've known him-some I will never forget or forgive him for but he is a male and can't be held responcible for some of his stupidity. He said I looked AMAZING I said 'Pete I still am not down to what I weighted in Hrnby days' (20 yrs ago) I said 'All those nasty remarks were made and I was still ligjter than I am now' He didn't actually apoligies but he did sound genuine in what he did say and was as near to an apoligy as I think I would get. He said he had got up to 93 k (we are talking 6'4 man bulit like a bean pole) when he gave up smoking I said my heart bleeds for him. Sheryl was telling me his diet to loose the feel kilos he'd gained it was a scream...he gave up his morning scone and had 2 sandwiches for lunch instead of three but still had his beer and complained daily it has been 1 day 2days etc since having his scone oh I so miss my scone. Gave us a laugh

Sunday I went for a lovely long walk(well as it happened it wasn't as long as I'd thought it would have been was only 13k) took me 3 hrs 2 mins and I was sure my speed had increased but at that rate is still only just over 4.3 k an hour I was sure I'd increased my speed I did the Timaru 10k in 2 hrs making it 5k an hr that was last flippen Oct. Still pleased I did it and all that stuff just pissed at time/distance. Weather was so darn shocking today I dusted off the treadmill and did 30mins on that while Oprah was on...wasn't really very interesting program but had promised myself I'd do the treadmill thing while it was on. Have walked every day at least 30 minutes since it snowed on 12th June so am pleased with that.

Got confirmation of entry today for Dunedin 1/2 marathon Sept 10th..took so long I was thinking they might not accept entry I put my expected time as 5 hrs and after Christchurch and them wanting to pull me in after 10k cause of my time I am bit paroniod I guess. I decided on Sunday I would bite the bullet and invest in good pr of walking shoes for event walks..I have always said it is no point in paying big money for shoes because of our roads. I walk 30-40k a week and the rough tread of our roads chews thru the soul of my shoes, last about 3 mths...but after 5 k Sunday my feet were burning and blistered so if I get a good pr of shoes jsut keep them for big walks and events they will last the distance and be worth the money spent and get cheaper pr for everyday walks. So now I need to find a good pr of shoes that isn't gonna cost me an arm and a leg or get a sponcer and all b4 Sept and get them broken in too.

I have to part with my first jeans I bought a few mths ago (well think it was Dec/Jan) but they have got so big on me and looked dreadful-had another pr actually bought these first and tey were 2 sm so bought next size up and kept smaller ones CAUSE I WILL NEED THEM SOON and here we are at soon cause they fit me and comfortably. So the others will be listed on trade me-god knows when I'll get to that...it takes a huge chunk of time to photograph and load listings.

Put a colour thru my hair after work on Friday turned out looking pretty good actually dispite my concerns when mixing the bottle and it being a distinct orange my hair now looks a pretty rich aurburn and little grey which is good Would love another perm but can't afford $90 the one I got b4 my Nth Is holiday is like the holiday just a fond memory.

Gonna make another attempt at getting the St John papers done tomorrow so hope I don't wreck any more office equiptment.

Hubby is happy camper at last he has got PINK FLOYD PULSE on DVD I tell you he has harassed every music store between Hamilton adn Invercargil for over 2 yrs for this darn thing. The had it at out local petrol station for similar price to town so I said get it and shut up about it...of course this is what he was hoping I'd say.

Well girls it is nearing the witching hour and hubby will be home guess I should think about starting his tea.

Work all next week so not sure when I'll get back to up date again....guess hen I have something to say would be good lead such a boring life this isn't often.

Week is going ok
Walked every day Eating is ok Water is going down and staying off scales.
Plan to do a GOOD walk on Sunday (12k) realised on Tuesday it is only 2 months till the Dunedin Half Marathon. Posted entry the otherday as yet haven't had confirmation...did get confirmation of entry for Conture Series in Chch Oct Nov Dec(Duathlons)
Results arrived today from the Christchurch marathon very impressive and great to see name in print.
Miracle happened today not only did hubby hang out the washing that was in the machine he bought all the washing in when it looked like rain...Maggie and I laughed when I said I hoped he'd hang it out when he seen it was done. So I must remember to say to her tomorrow about it...I grumble about him so much so it will be a change to actually have a complimentary comment.
Still a lot of snow and ice about roads were extremely slippery this morning because of over night rain but did help a bit with the thaw. More rain this afternoon but also fresh snow on mountians. Still a lot of people finding damage casued by the frozen pipes Hubby has afriend has 3 houses he rents out 1 tenant vacated ad just left house without draining and turning off water at toby whole house is a wash and extreme damage caused.
Minestrone Soup and Beef Stroganof with fetticine for tea tonight.

Sunday

Trying very hard today-hubby's day off so I am trying hard not to let male stupidity to get to me. Like leaving firewood in middle of laundry floor, instead of rantting I shiftted it but why should I have to-put it in the right place first.
After asking if I wanted outside door left open while we went for bike ride and I saying no the neighbours cat will get in-he left it open while we went out visiting Y would it be any differnent 2 hrs later the neighbours smelly cat will still come in.
Left his cup on coffee table
Turned jug on without checking had water in it
All things that I have tried hard not to comment on but why are men so well stupid he just doens't think.
Anyway has been a glorious day blew most of night so NO FROST yeah and then all day sunshine warm sunshine so a GOOD THAW and washing out and dry on clothes line that is a first in 5 weeks hasn't been fine enough to even bother. So I suggested we go for a bike ride so we wnet for 30mins ride in the sunshine did I mention the sunshine. Then hubby wanted to watch some petrol head thing on telly so I went straight out after ride and of course loo break for an hour walk...just got back from that and he was off to visit a friend so I said I would come too...didn't even take any notice of the comment made that makes me think he doesn't want me going visiting with him he never asks and always comes up with a reason why I can't go-but today I stuck to my guns and we walked (he wanted to take car but heck it was only 10mins walk) Sharon and I chatted food and weight loss and hair colours etc girlie stuff and the hubbies talked motorbikes. I wanted to say now how dreadful was that being seen out with ya wife but I didn't trying to not rock boat remember Felicity. So we came home at 3 I had left over lasagne from last night tea heated in microwave cause I hadn't had any lunch grabbed a banana before going to Sharon's. Now all I have to do it keep my trap shut and body language positive for rest of evening and will have been a nice day...but why do I have to be the one working so flippen hard at this would be nice if someone else had a thought or two about how I want things.
Right now off to find something nice and healthy for tea...made a scrummy lasagne last night out of Healthy Food magazine May 2006.

Friday night

Hubby and I went out last night. Dinner and a movie. Had already checked the menu so knew what I was having and stuck to plan-Chicken Snitzel and salad NO FRIES with that. Hubby had whitebait which looked scrummy never stole any of his fries. We walked to dinner and theatre 40 mins all up had a coffee when arrived at theatre with friends. Interval never had one of there delish cookies hazelnut and choc chunks they cook them while the movie is showing and the whole place is full of cookie cooking smells hard to resist but we did. Enjoyed the flick "Worlds Fastest Indian" again my second time. Walked home about 11 and the minute we walked in the door an argument broke out...ended a nice evening very quickly..all over the bedroom door being shut and room freezing cold. I did manage to make a victory of that situation too though and never ate-sat up until 1.30 watching TV sure as heck didn't want to go to bed. Wonder why we bother really still feel like blubbing and sorta numb really. I lay awake most of the night thinking could I afford to live on my own and how would it affect my weight loss going thru a seperation etc...which is the hardest putting up with this shit or going it alone. And can I be bothered with either.

DON'T YOU QUIT
When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
and forget all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...
So DON'T YOU QUIT!
It's a moment of truth,
it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself,
"You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow.
"It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
if you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the struggler's, when losing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink,
just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it... But DON'T YOU QUIT !!!
