Where have I been-
I been everywhere man!
21st and 28th Jan had duathlons in Christchurch so that means weekends away...then on 2nd Feb I left town spent 5 days in Chch had a dua on 4th in Sumner was a great day I got a spot prize of a heart rate monitor...valued at $120. Was great to be able to just blob after the event and not have to rush around shopping and drive home. Managed Aqua fit classes, spa pool and catching up with family and friends over the next few days. Wednesday the car was booked in for a service so I had the day in city browsing the shops and just poking around...to tell u the truth didn't rock my boat and I was pleased to be out of there. Did have a scrummy lunch and catchup with friend Jo at Mega Watts 218 Manchester St(if u r looking for a nice lunch or coffee and gluten free snack Mega Watts is place to go). On the Thursday Mum and I drove to Westport a great trip, wow what a differnece a good car makes...when I drove in van it took nearly 6hrs we travelled at a comfy 100 but still managed to get there in 4.5 hrs. Had coffee with Aunty and then off to Carters Beach for a much awaited paddle...actually spent some of every day at the beach it was great-looked at houses again while there something i do every trip to Westport but in reality the distance thing is still the same so I talk myself out of it.
husband wants computer need to come back later
Now Sunday so will try for another leg of the saga.
Westport was great lots of catching up with family and many a natter about old times(one aunty gets on to very old times like when she walked to school bearfooted and had to warm her toes in cow pats....heard it a million times before) she is 80 so u just nod again and think of somthing else.
Sunday 10th was Buller Half Marathon-fantastic...probably the best run event I have been to I had a great time from second we got there had several emotional attacks do on most events but this one was very emotional Westport is a fond place to me many a holiday had there with grandparents etc both now gone but still many rellies there. The walk was actually a breeze either all the training paid off or it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...that being said many of the runners said it was tough and very hot but as a walker I didn't find it so tough...mind u one chick that grumbled had done no training and thought it would be easy...dah. Sadly one chap died and that must have made it tough for the organisers...no fault of there's but still sad all the same. I was VERY pleased with my time of 4hrs 36mins 32secs did Dunedin in 4hr 35mins 01 secs and Twizel 18k 4hrs 19mins 38secs so can do some improving but still better than the nearly 6hrs for first half in 2001. I am very pleased with time and plan to do it again next year do ya wanna join me!!!!!and will shave at least 15mins off time. After the walk we went back to my cousins they did it too in great time and all very proud of themselves I was pleased with the kids 14 and 15 and bith did well. We had a nibble to eat and shower then 2 kids and I went back to park for prizegiving which we missed the kids listened to the music and caught up with school friends I went for a massage I had booked for 4pm...'heavan' a Chch gal and I got her card to visit again she was great and seemed to know where I'd be sore and some of the places I hadn't realised I was. We left park about 5 and went for a paddle to the beach after collecting some of the old folks from my aunties...was nice wind down etc.
Next couple days I sorta just blobbed walked every day but most was 8ks-we had to leave Westport on 14th...was meeting hubby in Chch(well Sumner actually) spent 2 nights there was nice still however to busy to get a paddle in Sumner sea..next time(which I have said the 3 times I have been ther this year) Hubby like the b and b so much made the comment next time we stay we'll just stay in Sumner if ppl wanna see us they can come out there...good plan and then I might get feet wet. B and B is lovely http://www.lepetithotel.co.nz/ and lovely folks run it. Can't actually remember much of wat we did do...We had a nice meal at a restarunat in Sumner, JDK's think it was called got comp glass chappers each and a red rose for me...being Valentines and all...I thought $50 for what we had was resonable and I was full and didnt have dessert. After spending day doing money stuff and things that needed attending to by us both we then had nice meal with my brother and my friend Rachel on the 15th in Chch Lonestar huge meals and I think good value others grumbled. Then we went and visited my Uncle and Aunt(my fathers brother) nice to catchup...hubby and him talked trains all night we got back to B+B about 10 no paddling at that hour. Leisurely breakfast and off on our merry way...got back to my Aunties were I was staying the next few nights and hubby collected his truck and I loaded it with stuff for him to take back with him making room in the car for groceries and our bags when we travelled home few days later.
More visiting done over next few days...spa and aqua..went out for lovely meal with Jo and her hubbies work friends on Sat night at Speights Tower Junction great lots of laughs good crowd didnt feel at all like i wasn't suppose to be there. Had my bike in shop being serviced while I was in Westport great idea and saved me finidng somewhere to store it...came back all sparkly clean and I got some new pedals as left one I was having issues with does go better for having an oil up and air in tyres etc.
Sunday 18th another Duathlon at QE2 Mum came to so an early start 5.30 left at 6 took breakfast with me; note to self need a snap lock container for cereal and yogurt makes a mess in trans box when it spills. http://www.tri.co.nz/ I didn't think this was as well planned and organised as others I have done at QE2 and if it had been my first I possibly wouldn't do them again..but as it wasn;t first I am still hooked. Some very big girls there I was thrilled to see them give it a go and hoped they kept at it and felt as good as I do. Didn't have to go home till Monday so had a spa after prizegiving and had left Mum at Church to do her thing...called to see my neice and her family she is pregnant and due April12 she was saying her b/presure was up since then she has been hospitalized and may be need to have baby early a worry and I am trying to organise a trip to Chch next weekend to see her and other stuff. Had a lovley lunch Sunday Roast thing with Mum Jo ANd Rachel we chatted and laughed and blobed there till nearly 4 then parted company I was feeling weary had planed on catching up with a cousin but by then was past that so wnet back to aunties and just did nuffin for the evening...well that isn't true cause I unpacked and then repacked the car ready for early departure in the morning...whch turned out to be not as early and we didnt get away from Chch till 9.30...travelled to Timaru hospitla for 2 appointements for Mum...she is on the list for second knee replacement about 6mths hoping about May.
Had to work Tuesday but didnt start till 12 so not so bad.
Wednesday blobbed and did very little...put away groceries some of which have only finihsed today and unpacked cases and WASHED oh plenty of that.
Thursday biked 10k
Friday biked 12k
Saturday biked 18k
Sunday biked 25k with Dawn...she and I are working on a plan...road trip to Wellington for the Duathlon I was planning on doing 6th May still very much in the thoughts stage but I am keen...need money is mostly my problem.
Ok that is enough for me right now.
thanks to those how have send out feelers to see if I am ok as u can see I am...maybe a few kilo heavier than I was a month ago but that to shall pass and I have been having a ball...actually taking me a while to get back into being at home mode...organising this trip next weekend as much to see neice etc as for my own benifit I enjoyed the single free life of course it can't last forever but a girl can try.

"maybe a few kilos heavier than I was a month ago" how is this possible with ALL the exercise you have been doing?
Glad you are back in blogging land, have missed your posts.
Hi Felicity,
I have just found your blog again after seeing you left a message on Janene's blog. I used to have you logged into my fav's but lost a whole lot of info when my computer suffered a fatel hemmorage last year and had to be re-built.
I started (re-started) my own blog at the end of last year and am ticking along with things. Wish I had your motivation with exercise as I seem to find every excuse not to do as much as I should.
I had to laugh reading about your aunty warming her toes in cow pats. I hadn't heard that one before. My older aunties/uncles normally just tell the same old stories about how far they had to walk etc, the funniest one from my family was my grandmother sending my mother off too school without realising that summer holidays had started. But my mother decided not to tell her and continued going to an empty school for a full week just so she could swim and play on the school swings. She was only 9 at the time. Imagine sending a 9 year old to school when it was closed these days. I can't imagine any 9 year old staying at school alone, then continuing to go back each day so they could play. It would be plasted on the newspapers and the parents would probably be investigated by cyps these days. LOl
